Spicy Peanut Sauce

I’ve been playing around with making a peanut sauce, one that you could use in a stir fry or as a condiment on a sandwich, in a wrap, tossing oven roasted or pan seared veggies in, or even on a salad, to dip cut up veggies in as a snack, a peanut sauce to have on hand in the fridge to change dinner options up.  I do believe I have found the magic formula for a spicy peanut sauce that I love. I hope you will too.

It’s super easy to make too – just a few ingredients that you likely already have in your cupboard, and no food processor required, you can use a fork or a whisk to mix the ingredients up.  The combination creates something very delicious!

All-natural peanut butter is a good source of protein, and contains essential minerals and vitamins: zinc (immune support & protein synthesis), magnesium (essential support for more than 300 processes in the body including blood sugar management), phosphorous (supports healthy cells and boosts energy levels), potassium (supports kidney function, heart health, nerve function), niacin (supports digestion and nerve function), mono and polyunsaturated fats (similar ratio to Olive Oil, supports heart health) and VitB6 (supports enzyme reaction, immune support and heart health).

As always, when you make this recipe, I would love to see your creation so please post a photo of your Spicy Peanut Sauce goodness and tag my IG account #RenataCollective or leave a comment with your thoughts!

Prep Time: 5 minutes / Makes: 1 Cup of Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup All-Natural Peanut Butter (smooth or crunchy, your choice)

  • 3 Tablespoons Soya Sauce (Alternate: Tamari Sauce)

  • 2 Tablespoons Rice Vinegar

  • 2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil

  • 2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup (Alternate: Coconut Sugar)

  • 2 Tablespoons Siracha Sauce (or more if you want it spicier)

  • A Pinch of Herbed Seasoned Sea Salt

  • A Few Grinds of Fresh Black Pepper

How its Made

  • Whisk all the ingredients until well blended - in a medium bowl or right into the glass container with a tight-fitting lid you will store the sauce in.

  • Label and date your jar. This mix will keep in the fridge for 2 weeks – if it lasts that long!

  • Use a whole recipe to make a simple stir fry something special, a tablespoon or two jazzes up roasted or pan seared veggies, a tablespoon mixed with a teaspoon of water for a salad dressing is delicious and unique, and serve it straight as the centerpiece for dipping of a fresh veggies platter.

 Enjoy!
