Waffle Iron Hashbrown
Here’s a quick breakfast tip and trick! Who hasn’t had one of the delicious (and somewhat greasy) hashbrowns in a fast-food breakfast sandwich or on its own? They are practically the best part of the breakfast! Now you can make fancy ones at home. Store bought hashbrowns in your waffle iron – serve as a side with any meal.
Idea: make your own breakfast sandwich with a toasted English muffin or bagel, a waffle iron hashbrown, a fried or poached egg, a bit of cheese, bacon or a slice of ham or turkey – YUM!!
As always, when you make this recipe, I would love to see your creation so please post a photo of your Waffle Iron Hashbrowns goodness and tag my IG account #RenataCollective or leave a comment with your thoughts!
Prep Time: 2 minutes / Cook Time: 10 minutes / Makes: as many as your waffle iron can fit and as many you wish you make
Ingredients
Store bought hashbrowns – frozen patties, thawed, as in the photos.
How It’s Made
Preheat your waffle iron oven util it is very hot.
When the waffle iron is ready, carefully place the hashbrowns on the plate and close the waffle iron.
Cook until the hashbrowns are cooked through and crispy.
I have a 30+ year old waffle iron that still works perfectly but it doesn’t clamp closed so I use a pot holder and push the top down to squeeze the hashbrowns and make them extra crispy.
When the hashbrowns are as crispy as you like, open the waffle iron, carefully remove the hashbrowns to a plate, add an egg and serve! Or make your own breakfast sandwich with a toasted English muffin or bagel, a waffle iron hashbrown, a fried or poached egg, a bit of cheese, bacon or a slice of ham or turkey – YUM!!
Enjoy!
