Refreshing Chai Almond Milk
This is a jiffy almond milk chia recipe – it literally takes 2 minutes and it is so delicious! While I like unsweetened almond milk in baking or on granola, drinking it plain is not my favourite beverage. Adding a few healthy spices and you have a wonderful drink to refresh, replenish and quench your thirst while satisfying your tastebuds!
You can strain out the spices after the milk has sat for a while using a nut bag or cheesecloth, but I leave it in, giving the jar a shake to mix the spices up so I get the healthy benefits from the spices!
Cinnamon has anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties. It is an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory and its prebiotic properties help balance gut health.
Coriander has immune-boosting antioxidants to fight inflammation and is a brain-healthy food to reduce anxiety and improve memory.

Prep Time: 2 minutes / Cook time: No cook time / Makes: 2 cups – 500ml
Ingredients
2 Cups Unsweetened Plain Almond Milk (if using homemade sweetened with maple syrup or honey, omit the maple syrup in this recipe – or sweeten to your taste)
1 scant Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
1 scant teaspoon Ground Coriander
¼ teaspoon Ground Cloves
Half of 1/8 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg (a big pinch is all you need)
Half of 1/8 teaspoon Sea Salt (optional)
2-3 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
How It’s Made
Put all the ingredients into a large measuring cup.
Blend with an immersion blender or use a whisk to blend. Pour into a jar with a tight-fitting lid.
Alternately, you can add the ingredients to a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake really well.
Store in the fridge. When you use this delicious chai milk, shake the jar as the spices will have settled to the bottom. As I wrote above, you can strain out the spices after the milk has sat for a while using a nut bag or cheese cloth, but I leave it in, giving the jar a shake to mix the spices up so I get the healthy benefits from the spices!
Enjoy!
