All Natural Cough Elixir
An all-natural cough elixir that works! I have given this ages-old recipe of mine to so many people lately who have a Spring cold or have a covid cough and chest congestion. It’s got a kick to it from the cayenne and ginger, a sweetness to it from the soothing honey and best of all, it really works!
To ease the symptoms of a cold or cough, drink lots of water or warm herbal teas – like my Soothing Ginger Tea, use a humidifier if you have one, and give yourself permission to get plenty of rest.
My Elixir all natural and is full of healthy, all-natural, ingredients:
Cayenne – the capsaicin component in cayenne (that give the pepper its heat) relieves pain and congestion, cayenne pepper is an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant that aids in the natural detoxification of the body, helps to balance PH, stimulates circulation, supports heart health and supports digestion and gut health.
Ginger, is a powerful antioxidant and is beneficial for brain health
Turmeric - curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant. Turmeric supports heart health, brain health and relieves arthritic pain.
Honey – is an antioxidant, antifungal and antibacterial, supports digestion and gut health, wound healing with its natural microbial inhibitor components and supports brain health.
Apple Cider Vinegar – Grandma’s cure-all! ACV is an antioxidant and antimicrobial. It is a natural laxative, supports digestion, lowers blood sugar levels and improves insulin sensitivities, supports healthy blood pressure and heart health, supports weight loss as it helps to make you feel full, reduces belly fat and supports healthy cholesterol levels. The acetic acid in ACV kills bacteria and is a natural disinfectant which makes it beneficial to clean cuts and wounds. It is also a natural preservative.
As always, when you make this recipe, I would love to see your creation so please post a photo of your All-Natural Cough Elixir goodness and tag my IG account #RenataCollective or leave a comment with your thoughts!
