Sweet Potato Fries
These Sweet Potato Fried are so easy to make and a great side dish for just about anything. They don’t need a big introduction! I like my sweet potato fries with a hint of chili pepper but you can use any spice you feel like.
Sweet potatoes are such a healthy veggie! The orange-fleshed sweet potato is a rich natural source of beta-carotene, a plant-based compound that is converted to VitA in your body, a critical vitamin for immune health and eye health. Sweet potatoes are an antioxidant food that protects your cells against free radicals which cause inflammation. They are a nutrient-rich veggie and a good source of fiber, VitC, manganese, VitB6, and potassium.

Prep Time: 10 minutes / Cook time: 20-25 minutes
Ingredients:
2 Large Sweet Potatoes
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
½ teaspoon Herbamare or Sea Salt (Herbamare is a seasoned sea salt available at Costco, health food stores and many grocery stores.
Grindings of Fresh Pepper – to taste
1 Tablespoon Chili Powder (or more if you want your fries spicy!)
How It’s Made
Preheat your oven to 450°F.
Prep your cooking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into fries. It’s best to have them as uniform in size/thickness for even cooking. You can cut them into rounds as well, keeping them the same thickness as possible.
Toss the fries in a bowl with the oil first, then add the Herbamare, add a few grindings of pepper, and lastly add the chili powder. Make sure they are all covered in oil and spice so give them a really good toss!
Put them in a single layer on your parchment-lined baking pan. Spread them out evenly.
Bake for 15 minutes and give them a flip as best you can to turn them all over for even cooking. Bake them for another 5-10 minutes and check again. They are done cooking when you can easily pierce them with a sharp-pointed knife or a fork. Roast them a little longer so they brown nicely and crisp up – check every 5 minutes to make sure they don’t bake too long and burn.
Enjoy!
